Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: February 2026
Our Commitment
ExpenseEasy AI is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We believe that everyone should be able to manage their finances independently, regardless of disability or the assistive technology they use.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web and mobile content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Current Measures
We have implemented the following accessibility measures across our website and application:
Semantic HTML
Our pages are built with semantic HTML elements including proper heading hierarchies, landmark regions, lists, and navigation structures. This ensures that assistive technologies can accurately interpret and convey the content and structure of each page.
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements on our website are fully operable using a keyboard alone. Users can navigate through links, buttons, and form controls using the Tab key, activate elements with Enter or Space, and use standard keyboard shortcuts throughout the interface.
Screen Reader Support
We use appropriate ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes, descriptive alt text for images, and meaningful link text to ensure compatibility with popular screen readers including VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, and JAWS.
Color Contrast
Text and interactive elements are designed to meet WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios. Body text maintains at least a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background, and large text maintains at least a 3:1 ratio. Information is never conveyed by color alone.
Focus Indicators
Visible focus indicators are provided for all interactive elements so that keyboard users can clearly see which element is currently focused. Focus order follows a logical sequence that matches the visual layout of the page.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of the following limitations and are actively working to address them:
- AI-generated content: Some text produced by our AI features, such as expense categorizations and receipt parsing results, may not always be presented in the most accessible format. We are improving structured output for assistive technology compatibility.
- Charts and data visualizations: Certain charts and graphs within the app have limited screen reader descriptions. We are progressively adding text alternatives and accessible data tables for all visual representations of spending data.
- Receipt image descriptions: Uploaded receipt images currently lack detailed alt text. The AI-extracted text provides an accessible alternative, but we are working to generate more descriptive summaries of the original images.
We are actively working to resolve these limitations and improve accessibility with each release.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of ExpenseEasy AI. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, have difficulty using any feature, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
- Email: support@expenseeasy.app
- Subject line: Accessibility Feedback
When reporting an accessibility concern, please include the following information if possible:
- A description of the issue and the page or feature where it occurs
- The device, operating system, and browser you are using
- Any assistive technology in use (such as a screen reader or magnifier)
- Steps to reproduce the issue
We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within two business days and will work to resolve reported issues as quickly as possible.
Assessment Approach
ExpenseEasy AI assesses the accessibility of our website and application through the following methods:
- Self-evaluation: Our development team conducts regular accessibility reviews using automated testing tools, manual keyboard testing, and screen reader verification during the development process.
- Third-party audit (planned): We plan to engage a qualified third-party accessibility auditor to conduct a comprehensive assessment of our website and application against WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Results and any remediation steps will be shared on this page.
We are committed to continuous improvement and will update this statement as our accessibility practices evolve.
